The ECO Desk Chair & The Eco Chair Low
Mathias Goeritz
1953
Mathias Goeritz designed the Eco museum as a center for experimental art, commissioned by the industrialist Daniel Mont. Built as a sort of penetrable sculpture, Goeritz designed even the furniture. He made two versions of this wooden chair, which we, at Clásicos Mexicanos, call the Eco Chair 001. There is a low version made for the auditorium and a taller version for deskwork. The two are nearly identical save for the height and a slight change in the geometry of the base.
